Sand casting is one of the simplest of all techniques of glassmaking. Essentially molten glass is poured into a mould made of damp sand. That’s it. Depending on what inclusions or patterning one uses in the mould, the results will take on that degree of relief.

The process of sand casting can be seen in this video which shows one of my pieces being cast.
